Dana Thomas House Coasters, tops of four in set

Dana Thomas House Square Coasters, Set of 4

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is recognized world-wide as one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century. His work heralded a new thinking in architecture, using innovation in design and engineering made possible by newly developed technology and materials. His creative ability extended far beyond the border of architecture to graphic design, furniture, art glass, textiles, and decorative elements for the home.

Wright skillfully harmonized relationships between his architectural designs and their interwoven elements, often adapting motifs that echo patterns from the geometry of his buildings or the surrounding nature. Frank Lloyd Wright created some of his finest and most detailed art glass compositions of the Dana-Thomas House in Illinois. The nature of the surrounding prairie landscape have been interpreted, reduced to their basic geometry and rearranged in a variety of unique patterns throughout the house. The art glass design that these coasters are based on typifies Wright’s appreciation for nature and geometry.
