Taliesin West Rain Chain #5 Southwest
This is not just a box of rocks….or glass.
These Rain Chains are handmade with love by Teri Welsch, who lives in Arizona.
She has created a version of her work for the Frank Lloyd Wright Store, using rocks that are similar to those found at Taliesin West.
The glass for each rain chain is called Dalle de Verre, which is a thick stained glass used in most church windows and other commercial applications. Each piece has been cut, then chipped to create facets, lightly tumbled and wire wrapped.
The wire used is an 18-gauge stainless steel or a 16- gauge brass. The glass should be able to handle common year around weather elements and the wire will not rust.
You will be able to enjoy your rain chain for many years to come, so make sure to hang it, either inside or outside, where you can see it daily.
Approximately, 5ft long.
Please note: These are one of a kind hand made pieces. Therefore, the one you receive may be a little different than the one pictured.
A portion of the proceeds from your purchase will support the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation's mission to preserve Taliesin and Taliesin West for future generations, and inspire society through an understanding and experience of Frank Lloyd Wright's ideas, architecture, and design.
