Coonley Playhouse Bird Feeder - Driftwood
The Frank Lloyd Wright Coonley Playhouse Bird Feeder utilizes a hopper style design and insert windows. The insert designs, visible on both the front and back of the feeder, are adapted from the Coonley House in Riverside, Illinois designed by Wright for Avery and Queene Coonley (1908-1912).
The feeder is hand built using marine grade plywood and finished with an exterior deck stain. Additionally, the roof and feeding platform have a coat of urethane for added protection. The laser cut acrylic window inserts are backed with sheets of clear polycarbonate to create the seed hopper. Story card giving background information is included.
