Saguaro Forms Art Glass, Wood Frame
The lively desert landscape abstraction adapted for this product is extracted from the "Saguaro Forms and Cactus Flowers" presentation drawing designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1927 as one of a series of twelve seasonal themes for Liberty magazine covers. Liberty magazine considered Wright's designs too avant-garde for the time, and they were not published. Later, the presentation drawings became the basis for interpretations executed in diverse media. The matrix of vertical and horizontal lines, including the circle and square, which create this free-flowing, imaginative desert landscape abstraction is a departure from Wright's earlier linear compositions.
